Managing comments
Replying, moderating, and what you can do under your posts.
Under every post: comments, replies to comments, and votes — on the post as well as on the comments.
What you can do
| Action | Who |
|---|---|
| Reply to a comment | Everyone |
| Vote on a comment | Everyone |
| Report a comment | Everyone |
| Moderate the comments | The post's author |
On a page run by a team
Moderating comments is a permission. The three supplied roles have it, but a custom role might not. Without it:
"Your role doesn't allow moderating this page's comments."
What reaches you
Social notifications cover comments, replies, mentions and votes. They group together: "Awa and 12 others commented on your post".
The count is reliable, the faces aren't
The list of people shown stops at three. The number itself is exact.
To see only part of it, the Activity screen — Home tab → 🔔 at the top right, there is no Notifications tab — carries seven filters, among them Replies and Mentions.
When a comment is a problem
Blocking and reporting don't do the same thing:
- blocking freezes contact with that person — see Blocking someone;
- reporting sends the content to moderation, anonymously — see Reporting content.
The two can be done together.
