Creating a post

One composer, a toolbar with five buttons.

It all starts from the + button, in the middle of the bottom bar. There's only one composer for every format: you don't pick a type up front, you compose, and the toolbar decides the format.

The composer's header

ElementWhat it does
"Cancel"Closes the composer β€” "Discard post? Your content will be lost for good."
The audience selectorWhich profile you're posting as
"Publish"Sends it

The audience selector is the only place you choose the page

If you posted "from the wrong account", you didn't make some obscure mistake: you didn't look at that selector. It's the first habit to build, before you write.

The toolbar: five buttons

ButtonWhat it adds
πŸ–ΌOne or more images from your gallery
🎬A video
πŸŽ™An audio recording
πŸ“·A photo taken right now
β–€A product from your shop

One kind of media per post

You can't mix them. The refusal is explicit: "Content type already chosen β€” Remove {the media} first before adding another type."

You only see your published products

"You only see your published products. Only published products can be attached to a post." A product still in draft doesn't appear in that list β€” which is often where the trap is discovered. See Publishing, editing and archiving a product.

Reposting doesn't start from the composer: it's triggered from the action bar of an existing post.

Text isn't flat

Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough β€” and two characters that do more than decorate:

  • typing @ opens mention suggestions. A mention carries the person's username, not their display name, so it stays valid even if they change their name;
  • typing # creates a hashtag, which becomes a way into search.

What the composer doesn't carry

Six things people look for, that don't exist

β›” No category to choose, no free tags, no location, no topic, no disappearing post, and no post draft.

The product draft does exist β€” but that's a different thing, and it lives in the shop.

While it uploads

The composer closes and takes you back to Home. The upload continues in the background, with a progress bar at the top of the feed:

"Preparing video… {n}%" β†’ "Processing..." β†’ "Publishing..."

You can carry on reading while a video goes out. Your post appears at the top of the feed as soon as it's ready, without waiting for the feed to reload.

If it fails

The upload bar has three outcomes, each stated plainly: "An error occurred", "Publication interrupted" β€” with "Retry" and "Discard" β€”, and "Publishing blocked by a sanction".

SituationWhat happens
No networkThe post is queued and goes out on its own
Upload stuckFriym spots it when you return to the app and tells you
A penalty"You can't post right now", with the time left and View sanction
Role without permission"Your role doesn't allow publishing as this page"

A post started without a network isn't lost

No need to rewrite it: it's kept and sent again when the connection returns.

After posting

Other people can react, comment, reply and repost. A view counter appears.

Two buttons not to confuse on your own post:

  • the action bar β€” Like Β· Comment Β· Repost Β· Share Β· Views β€” that's what carries sharing;
  • the β‹― at the top right, which carries "Edit post", "Delete" and "Report". See Editing or deleting a post.

On a page, the post carries the page's name β€” but the team log records who posted. See The activity log.
