Reporting an account or a post
The reasons, what happens next, and why it's anonymous.
Reporting starts from the menu of a post, a comment, a profile or a product listing: "Tell us what's wrong."
Your report stays anonymous
The person reported doesn't know who reported them. It's written on screen at the moment you report.
The nine reasons
- Spam or repeated posting
- Scam or attempted fraud
- Counterfeit or fake brand
- Item prohibited from sale
- Hate speech or harassment
- Sexual content
- Violence or disturbing content
- Uses my work without permission
- Other reason
Pick the one that fits best. The reason steers the review, but moderation decides what it upholds — see Understanding a penalty.
The refusals
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| "This content no longer exists." | It has already been removed or deleted |
| "You can't report your own content." | Use deletion instead |
| "You already reported this content." | One report per piece of content is enough |
| "You've reached the report limit. Try again tomorrow." | 20 reports per 24 hours |
Reporting isn't blocking
A report goes to moderation; it doesn't cut off contact. If the person is bothering you directly, block them as well: see Blocking someone.
An order problem isn't reported here
Reporting is for content, not transactions. If you paid and weren't delivered, the route is My order never arrived.
Reporting a page as a team member
The Report a profile entry is never hidden, whatever your role on a page: it isn't a page decision, it's a report to moderation.
