Editing your profile
What changes, what doesn't, and the badges.
Everything is edited from:
Profile tab → ⚙️ → "Profile and content" → "Edit my profile"
Changes take effect immediately.
What changes
| Field | What to know |
|---|---|
| Avatar | Picked from a list when you created your account. Nothing locks you in: swap it for a real photo whenever you like. 5 MB maximum |
| Banner | The image at the top of your profile. 5 MB maximum |
| Full name | What's shown in large type. Changing it breaks no mentions: a mention carries the username, not the name |
| Bio | What you do |
| Category | What you talk about |
What doesn't change
The @username is permanent
On the editing screen, the "Username" row can be copied but not edited. No screen in the app lets you change it, for a personal profile or for a page.
“I changed my name, why didn't my @ follow?”
On a personal profile, the username was derived from your full name when the account was created, then frozen. It isn't a permanent link between the two: the name stays editable at will, the username never moves again.
That's deliberate, and it's what protects you: if the username followed the name, every change would break your old mentions and every link already shared to your profile.
Your email address isn't a profile field either: it's your account.
The three badges, not to be confused
| Badge | What it attests | How you get it |
|---|---|---|
| Verified | Public identity | It can't be requested. No screen, no form: Friym grants it |
| Verified seller | Permission to sell | It's the result of identity verification |
| Creator | The author of the content | Automatically marks the author in their own comments |
An account carrying one doesn't necessarily carry the other.
On a page, it's a permission
If you look after a page for someone else, editing it requires a permission. Without it, the entry doesn't appear — that isn't a fault. See Roles and permissions.
If a penalty has taken away profile editing, the screen tells you, with the time remaining.
If a piece of information is stuck
Profile → ⚙️ → "Support" → "Report a bug" opens a pre-filled message to
support@friym.com. Include your @username and what
you're trying to correct.
