My payments keep failing

The causes that come up, and the order to rule them out in.

When it isn't a one-off, the cause is almost always one of the following four.

1. The number isn't in the right format

Friym asks for international format with the country code. A number typed in local format may not be recognised — the message then is: "This number is not supported yet. Please check the country or operator."

2. Your operator isn't supported

Friym checks your number at the moment of purchase and works out the operator: you don't pick it. Being in one of the nineteen covered countries isn't enough on its own — your operator has to be open there too.

If you have a second line with another operator, that's the quickest test.

3. The confirmation never lands on your phone

Approval happens outside Friym, in your operator's interface: by USSD or by notification. If nothing shows up, check that:

  • your phone has signal at the moment you pay;
  • you aren't missing the USSD window by switching apps;
  • your Mobile Money account is active and funded.

4. You're retrying too quickly

A "pending" payment can still complete. Redoing the purchase in the meantime exposes you to a double charge.

Closing the app cancels nothing

The order lives at Friym, not on your screen. You can close the app and reopen it later: it will show the current state.

If all four are ruled out

Profile → ⚙️ → "Support" → "Report a bug" opens a pre-filled message to support@friym.com. Your device and app version are attached automatically.

Add your @username, the number used, the times of your attempts and any order numbers you were shown.
