Actions that need fresh proof
Why Friym asks you to prove who you are when you're already signed in.
Being signed in isn't enough for everything. Some actions require proof of identity less than ten minutes old, even on a perfectly valid session.
The reason fits in one sentence: a phone left unlocked, or a stolen session, shouldn't be enough to empty an account.
It isn't a sign-out
When "Confirm it's you" appears out of nowhere, your session hasn't expired and nothing is wrong with your account. You're simply about to do something that deserves a second check.
The actions concerned
| Action | Proof required |
|---|---|
| Closing a page | Fresh proof (less than 10 minutes old) |
| Closing your account | Fresh proof |
| Reopening a page | Fresh proof |
| Changing your payout details | Strong proof: authenticator app. An emailed code is not enough |
The payout case
That's where your money goes. An account whose inbox has been compromised must not be enough to change its destination — so Friym demands the strongest factor you carry.
Friym tells you before making you fill in the form
If your account doesn't carry an authenticator app, the warning comes before you type your country and number. Making you fill everything in only to announce afterwards that it won't go through would be wasting your work before stating the condition.
The walk-through is in Protecting your account.
