Recovery codes
Ten codes, shown once.
Recovery codes get you back in when you no longer have your authenticator app: phone lost, replaced, or wiped.
They only exist on a protected account.

Do this today, not on the day you lose your phone
This is the one page in this help center meant to be read before you have a problem. On the day you no longer have your app, it's already too late to generate codes: you have to be signed in to reach them.
Ten codes, once
You will never see them again
Friym shows you ten codes, at the moment you generate them, and only once. This isn't a list you'll be able to reopen later from the settings.
That may sound harsh, and it's deliberate. Those ten codes open your account on their own: if they stayed readable inside the app, someone only needs your unlocked phone for a minute to walk away with ten keys to your home. By showing them once, Friym makes sure they exist nowhere except where you put them.
Which leaves the only thing that matters at that moment: write them down before you close the screen.
The screen says it plainly — "They will never be shown again." — and to leave it you have to tick "I've saved these codes somewhere safe."
Note them right then: on paper, or in a password manager. Not in Friym messages, which aren't encrypted.
Each code works once
A used code is consumed, permanently. Friym even tells the two cases apart on screen: a code that's already been used and a code that's wrong don't produce the same message.
With ten single-use codes, you have ten emergency ways in. Count them.
How to use one
At sign-in, on the screen asking for your app's code, choose to enter a recovery code instead. It's a door in its own right, just like the app: it genuinely opens the session.
If you have nothing left
There is no way, inside the app, to recover an account when you've lost your main inbox, your recovery address and your recovery codes all at once.
If that's your situation, write to support@friym.com: the answer doesn't depend on the app.
