I can't sign in
Find your case, and what unblocks it.
Friym has no password. Three things can get you in: your email address with a 6-digit code, your Google account, your Apple account. So there's nothing to reset — there's a door to reopen.
Find what's happening to you below.
Three things to check, in this order:
- your spam folder, and the secondary tabs in your inbox. That's where it usually is;
- the address you typed. One extra letter and the code goes somewhere else, with nothing shown on screen — Friym can't guess that you mistyped;
- the time. A new code can only be requested after 5 minutes.
If your account was created with Google or Apple, try that button instead: you'll land on the same account.
You only get three requests
After three codes requested without a successful sign-in, sending is blocked for 15 minutes. Nothing shortens that. Afterwards you start again with three requests, and the block returns if they run out again.
That's why the order above matters: with five minutes between sends, your three requests are gone in about ten minutes. Check your spam folder and your address before asking again, not after.
Avoid disposable addresses
Temporary mailboxes filter or delete automated messages. And more importantly: your address is your account. A throwaway inbox that expires is an account nobody can reach any more.
Check you're using the latest code you received: asking for a new one cancels the previous. That's the most frequent cause — you go back to your inbox, open the first message you see, and copy the old code.
Then look at the time. A code only lives for 10 minutes. After that it's refused even when typed correctly: it isn't a typo, it's a stale code.
If it has expired, request another — bearing in mind there are 5 minutes to wait between sends, and that you only get three requests before a 15-minute block.
The three counters measure different things: your code dies at 10 minutes, you can claim a new one from 5, and the third one closes the door for a quarter of an hour.
Your account is protected: on top of identifying you, Friym asks for the code from your authenticator app. That's what you turned on so that your inbox alone would no longer get someone into your account.
If you no longer have that app, use a recovery code.
Friym doesn't say which code is wrong
The message is the same whichever code you just typed. That isn't vagueness for its own sake: saying more would help someone trying to break into your account.
You get five tries per sign-in attempt. On the fifth, Friym closes the request:
"This request has expired. Start signing in again — it takes thirty seconds."
Your account is not locked. There's nothing to wait for: start again from the sign-in screen.
If you saved a recovery address, now is the moment: it makes the code arrive somewhere else.
It doesn't open the session by itself: on a protected account, you'll still need your app code or a recovery code.
This isn't a fault: somebody closed this account, and it can still be recovered.
The screen shows you the closing date, how long you have to come back, and a way to reopen right now. You have 30 days. See Reopening a page or an account.
That's no longer a sign-in problem. A moderation decision can take away posting, commenting, messaging or selling, for a while.
The screen tells you which one and how long is left. And you can appeal: see Understanding a penalty.
None of the above?
