What is Friym?

Friym looks like the social networks you already know: you post, you follow, you comment, you chat. What changes is that you can also sell — to the people already following you, without sending them off to another site.

Why it's built this way

Plenty of people already post in order to sell. A photo of a product, a price in the comments, a phone number in the bio. The trouble comes next: you have to send the buyer somewhere else — a link, another app, a separate conversation. Every time you redirect someone, you lose a few of them on the way.

That's where Friym starts. Commerce isn't a feature bolted on beside the social part: it's the continuation of what people were doing anyway.

What you can do here

You post text, images, videos and audio. Other people react, comment and repost. You follow whoever interests you, and your feed is built from your follows and the topics you picked.

If you're buying, you pay inside Friym with Mobile Money, and you follow your order in the same place.

If you're selling, you open a shop on a page, put files, services or goods in it, and the money reaches your Mobile Money on its own.

Six things that surprise people at first

None of them is a bug, and we'd rather explain them here than let you find out at the wrong moment.

Your personal profile can't sell. To sell, you create a page alongside your profile — not instead of it. The idea is simple: what you post under your own name and what you sell don't get mixed together. Your customers find a shop they can identify, and you keep a profile that stays yours.

You'll only ever have one shop, even with several pages. It belongs to your account, not to the page — so the page you open it on matters, because that choice can't be taken back.

You always act as one profile at a time. Before posting as a page, you have to switch to it. Otherwise your message goes out under your own name. It's the most common mistake of the first few days, and there's no undo button: you have to delete and start again.

A page can be run by several people, up to five. You hand them work — posting, replying, shipping — without handing over the page, and certainly not your money.

Five things stay yours alone, whatever role you grant: receiving the money, verifying your identity, opening the shop, closing the page, transferring it. These aren't permissions somebody forgot to tick — no role opens them.

Nothing is ever erased. Closing a page doesn't delete what you posted. Your posts stay readable where they were posted, signed "Friym user", but are no longer surfaced to anyone. That can feel uncomfortable; it's what lets a conversation or an order that somebody else lived through still make sense after you leave.
